Why this page exists

GigxMatch uses a few product names that look similar but mean different things. This glossary helps visitors and new members understand what each term means before you browse or register.

Roles and profiles

Artist

A performer or music act with a public profile on GigxMatch (solo, duo, band, and similar formats). Artists can apply to gig requests, create or join matches, list shows, and accept lineup invitations.

Venue

A public page for a physical space (bar, hall, restaurant, outdoor site, and similar). It shows location, capacity, facilities, and related activity. Venues are managed by a venue manager account.

Venue manager

The role that owns and edits venue pages, can publish gig requests for those venues, review artist contacts, and list shows tied to managed venues.

Event organizer

The role for people who run events. Organizers can publish gig requests, review artist applications, and list shows (usually with an external venue name and address).

Opportunity and listing types

Show (演出)

A public performance listing for a confirmed or upcoming event: date, time, place, description, entry info, and lineup. Use shows when you want the public to discover an event. Browse at Shows.

Gig request (演出邀約)

An opportunity where a venue or organizer is looking for artists. It may appear in the public pool or be shared privately by link. Artists send a contact/application with availability and notes. Browse at Gig Requests.

Match (配對)

An artist-to-artist listing used to form a team or find collaborators (for example, needing a drummer for a date). Other artists can sign up for instrument slots. Browse at Matches.

Lineup invitation (陣容邀請)

When someone lists a show, they may invite artists into that show’s lineup. Invited artists accept or decline in Lineup Invites (sign-in required).

Contact / application (聯絡/申請)

An artist’s response to a gig request: profile context, message, preferred timeslots, and budget expectations. Organizers and venue managers review these in their dashboard contact lists.
